Metro Church of Christ
Worshipping at Metro
At Metro our goal is to incorporate into our community the identity,
practices, and teachings of the church as it appears in the pages of the
New Testament. We want to believe as they believed, preach as they
preached, and worship as they worshipped. We also try to avoid
man-made traditions as our desire is to worship in a way that allows
no barriers between our members and our Lord as we come together
at the foot of the cross. As a result, our worship service is
Christ-centered and simple, but also personal, dynamic, and up-lifting.
• We sing a cappella (without musical instruments), using song books
as well as a paperless hymnal on our overhead screen. We also pray
together, share in the communion, read from the Bible, and receive
encouragement through the preaching of God's word.
• During communion, we remember Christ and His sacrifice for us.
You are welcome to share in the unleavened bread and grape juice. If
you choose not to, simply pass the plate down the pew to the person
next to you or return it to the server.
• We also collect an offering during our time together, but as a guest,
you are not expected to contribute. However, if you feel comfortable
doing so, please fill out a pink visitor's card (located in the back of
each pew) and place it in the collection plate or hand it to someone
• After the sermon, during the singing of a hymn, we invite anyone
who needs our prayers or desires to be baptized into Christ, to come
to the front pew and share his or her needs with one of our shepherds
or with the minister.
