Children ages preschool (~3yr. old through 3rd grade) also gather on Wednesday
Teacher: Sandy Westerby
The upper elementary children also meet on Wednesday evenings to grow in their
walk with Christ as they study God's word. Through reading scripture, games, and
activities, the goal of this class is to strengthen the children's understanding of the
nature of God and His will for us.

A staffed nursery is available during the 11:00 a.m. worship service for children ages
2 and under. Our nursery volunteers, made up of caring adult women, provide you the
opportunity to worship knowing your child is in a safe and loving environment. The
room is also equipped with a video feed of the service for parents who would like to
accompany their children to the nursery.
Coordinator: Karen Simpson
Prior to the Sunday morning sermon, children in pre-k - 4th grades are dismissed
from the auditorium to participate in their own Children's Bible Hour in the lower
elementary classroom. This is an active and engaging time of worship during which
the children sing, learn a Bible lesson, do crafts, and occasionally enjoy a puppet
show. Children can be picked up at the classroom immediately after worship service
ends (12:00 p.m.).
Coordinators: Jeff Westerby and Brenda Miller
For one week each summer, our entire building is transformed into an exciting
place for children to learn about God in fun, active, and extraordinary ways. Past
themes have included a jungle complete with an exotic zoo, and a computer lab
with a zany and slightly "mad" scientist. We are looking forward to trying to top
ourselves next year!
Metro kids enjoy many other events throughout the year such as the annual
Easter egg hunt, the Halloween party, and more. We have even had a family
carnival complete with bounce houses, face painting, carnival games, and prizes.
